J.R. ESGUERRA worked as the director, PROJECT MANAGER + 3D modeler of this project.
JNR Dolls, a Media Arts & Science (MAS) senior capstone project, was a collaborative doll brand project between three members: Ronald ("J.R.") Esguerra, Reinier Medina, and Nolan Adams. This project focused on various disciplines within the realm of MAS and digital-to-physical translation. This includes design through 3D platforms to small-scale production, brand strategy, website design, and many more. The dolls themselves were a study on current culture and generational encapsulation through fashion, toy and play, and collectibles. The final doll line included Miao, QQ, and Shai. This project was executed entirely in one semester (3-4 months), from ideation/concept to full showcase display.
This project was reimagined and archived in an exhibit to show all the prototypes throughout the whole production. This exhibit was located in the Stauffer Gallery on the ASU Tempe/Main campus from February 5th to February 19th.
